Are private rooms available at your group retreats?
Yes, we have 3 private rooms available. You can have a private room and a private bathroom. These rooms are an additional $50 per night. On our website, during registration, there is an option to get a private room if available.
Do we have to share a bathroom?
We usually have 2-3 private rooms available. All private rooms have a private bathroom. All our shared rooms have an attached bathroom and shower. Shared rooms have 2-4 people in each room.
Can I share a room with my friend?
If you are attending a retreat with a friend or a family member, please let us know. If there is availability, we will arrange for you to share the same room.
Is this a substance abuse detox?
No, we are not a substance abuse detox center. We are not staffed or equipped to provide the level of care necessary for detox from alcohol or other substances.
Are the yoga classes OK for beginners?
Yes. Our skilled yoga instructors are able to work with people of any level of experience. Also with our small class sizes and our gentle style of yoga, which focuses more on its health benefits than on fast-paced aerobics, people find that our classes are fulfilling both for beginners as well as more advanced yogis.
Will I be able to contact work/family via text, email, or Skype?
Yes. We have free time between 2-5:15 each day. This is the time for relaxation, detox therapies, consultations, massage, hiking, swimming, sauna, etc. We provide free wifi for our guests. We also have cellular service, Verizon and US Cellular work the best, AT&T is spotty.
Is this program OK if I have never fasted before?
If you have never fasted before, that is fine. We will walk you through the process. Our staff is experienced and our program is designed for you to have a successful cleanse.
Do we have any meals during the retreat, or do we drink juice the whole time?
We serve meals, because we feel it is important to help you make a smooth transition into your fast. When you arrive, we have a delicious, nutritious, and easy to digest meal together. The next day, we start the juice cleanse. On your day of departure, you will break your fast with a delicious breakfast, and we’ll have lunch before you take off for home.
How many juices do we have a day?
We have organized meal times for two juices (breakfast and lunch) and one vegetable broth in the evening. In between these “meals,” you can drink tea, water, and, if needed, extra juice and broth.
Do I have to commit to do a full juice fast?
No. If you do not feel comfortable doing the full liquid cleanse, we also have a graduated fast. We can prepare simple soups and salads for you in lieu of the full liquid cleanse. Please let us know in advance if you do not want to do the fast.
Will I lose weight while fasting?
We do not promote ourselves as a weight-loss program, but many people lose weight during our juice cleanse retreats. The amount of weight you lose will depend on factors such as general health and whether you are overweight or not. This is a healthy lifestyle program, and we emphasize the importance of the information we teach you and the experience you have while you are here. Your long term success will depend on how well you incorporate the program when you return home.
Can I add on more days to my stay, or arrive early?
Yes, you can add on days for an additional fee as long as there is availability and it is prearranged. Please contact us for details and availability.
Can I continue fasting after the retreat?
Yes, you can continue your fast. Some people decide, before or during the retreat, that they’ll want to continue their juice cleanse. In that case, we will prepare juice for you instead of the meals on your departure day.
What takes place during the consultations?
During the consultations, you work one on one with our staff to help define the health issues you want to work on, which goals you want to set.Together, we create a long term plan for you when you get home. Two consultations, one with Ramesh and one with Chris are included in our 5 day retreat. They are also available during our weekend retreats, for an additional fee. As a naturopathic and ayurvedic practitioner, Ramesh will listen to your health concerns and teach you about your Ayurvedic body type, which will help inform and improve many of your diet and lifestyle decisions when you get home. He will also suggest special foods, herbs and lifestyle practices that will be helpful in improve your healthy lifestyle at home. Your second consultation will be with our psychologist, Chris, who will help you explore and find solutions to your internal and external challenges toward holistic wellness.
Is the information you share with us confidential?
Yes, we do not share any personal information with anyone else.
Do you offer any type of follow up after the retreat?
We offer health and wellness coaching to help you guide you along with your lifestyle changes. These coaching programs are vitally important for those who struggle with weight or other chronic health issues. Click here for more information. Is juice cleansing safe?
Short term juice fasting is completely safe. If you have a chronic or serious health condition, you may want to consult with your healthcare provider before signing up with us. This is why it is important to fill out our health forms in advance. As a general rule, if you are concerned, you should check in with your healthcare provider first.
Will you consult with my other healthcare providers if need be?
Can I continue to use pharmaceutical medications?
Yes. When attending one of our programs, it is important that you do not make any changes to your medications without first consulting your healthcare provider.

What should I bring?
- Bathing suit and/or shorts and T-shirt (for the pool, sauna and mud pack treatment)
- Slippers or socks for inside
- Personal water bottle
- Journal and or notebook and pen (or your preferred device to take notes)
- Hiking shoes
- Natural insect spray for ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes (during months of warm weather)
- Comfortable clothes for yoga class
- Rain gear
Where is the nearest airport?
The closest airport is Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), it is located 45 mins from our center. You can call Uber for transportation to our center or click here for a list of shuttle services. We usually use GradyCo Car Service. You can also fly into these airports and rent a car. Greenville-Spartenburg International Airport (GSP), Greenville, SC is 1.5 hours away. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Charlotte, NC is 2.5 hours away.
Can children attend a retreat at Prama Wellness Center?
Unfortunately, children are not able to attend retreats at Prama Wellness Center
Can I get a massage during my stay?
Yes, we are happy to arrange a massage for you during free time. On our website, while you are registering, there is an option to add a massage for an extra fee. If you have already registered and you would like to add on a massage, please contact us via email and we would be happy to arrange a massage for you.
Will I be able to practice my own yoga and meditation practice?
We have guided meditation and yoga classes. If you have your own practice, there is time during free time for you to practice an individual yoga or meditation practice.
Do you offer seva or apprenticeships?
Sometimes. Please inquire.
Can I take my dog/pet?
Unfortunately, we are not able to allow dogs or pets at Prama Wellness Center. Sometimes, we have guests with allergies and sensitivities, so we do not allow animals in the building. There are many nice kennels in the area.
